Empire State Building Knocked Down With 29 Dominoes

A domino effect is a familiar term used when someone wants to describe an action that will have far reaching effects. The domino effect is a series of similar-sized blocks falling into one another turn by turn. As showcased by Stephen Morris (a University of Toronto professor), dominoes can actually knock down things about 1.5 times their size. Morris states, “Starting from a domino just five millimeters tall it would take just 29 progressively-larger dominoes to wipe out the Empire State Building.”
